1,000 business plots allotted in Yamuna area

Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) on October 7 allotted nearly a thousand industrial plots under its area. Plot sizes range from 300 sqm to 1,800 sqm. Allotment was done on an open-ended scheme, on the basis of interviews.

According to officials, the allotment was done across two sectors in the YEIDA area. “Sectors 32 and 33, measuring about 1,000 hectares, were earmarked for industrial use,” said a senior YEIDA official. “We launched an open-ended scheme for industrial plots, for which we received 995 applications. All applicants have been awarded land for industrial use,” the official said.

As per officials, industrial land in YEIDA was allotted at Rs 6,100 per sqm. “We have allotted 479 plots of 300 sqm, 295 of 450 sqm, 89 of 600 sqm, 88 of 1,000 sqm and 44 plots of 1,800 sqm,” the official said. “One plot measuring 20 acres (around 81,000 sqm) was allotted earlier,” he added. Several big industry players have invested in land in the area, officials said. YEIDA has already started developing the industrial area. Plots will be handed over to allottees in two years.

Entrepreneurs have high expectations from YEIDA in the near future. They said the area was already on its way to becoming a hub of development with state-of-the-art infrastructure. The area has enormous potential to absorb industrial, institutional, housing and commercial needs for at least the next two decades, said an investor.
